Keywest Technology reformulates its MediaXtreme product line

The Lenexa, Kan., -based company has reorganized its MX product line into two core products, the MediaXtreme and the MediaXtreme Media POD.

LAS VEGAS (April 24)--Keywest Technology today announced a sweeping reorganization of its highly acclaimed line of MediaXtreme digital signage controllers and players to clarify the decision-making process customers face in determining which of the company’s products is most appropriate for their particular application.

The reorganization distills the company’s digital signage systems into two core products: the MediaXtreme media server and the MediaXtreme Media POD, point of decision player.

“Given the rapid advance of technology, we have found ourselves in the position of introducing a series of new products in quick succession –each of which has built upon the core competency of the MediaXtreme in creating, scheduling and playing back professional multimedia presentations,” said Keywest Technology president Nick Nichols. “However, the rapid succession of new products has created some confusion on the part of our dealers and customers about which MediaXtreme product is best suited for a given use.”

“This reformulation of our product line brings clarity to that process and eliminates what was becoming an unnecessarily complex process,” he said.

The reorganized Keywest Technology line-up includes these products and options:

MediaXtreme: a professional media server for PC media, graphics, video and audio, which provides users with configuration options to tailor the server to their needs. MediaXtreme options include input/output configuration, playlist editor software and geometry correction software and broadcast-quality character generator.

• Analog video (NTSC and PAL) with picture-in-picture, live windowing, live video input and keyer
• SDI with serial digital in and out
• ASI with DVB/ASI output
• Two channel with RGBHV outputs
• Four channel with DVI outputs

Professional Playlist Editor Software Options

• MX-Editor, which enables simple to complex media composing on a PC platform;
• MediaXtreme Live a browser-based interface which comes with 12 pre-defined templates. Users can customize templates, import any graphics, media, or audio file.
• InfoZone: Data management software for enterprise applications.

Professional Character Generator Software Options

• MediaCreator CG, which includes the Digital Juice backdrops.

Professional Projection Software Options

• X-WARP: New software option that can be used to correct geometric distortions introduced with extreme projector positioning; ease multiple projector alignment; or create 3-D effects.

MediaXtreme Media POD: a stand-alone media player for point of decision digital signage applications in the retail market. The Media POD is a powerful, turnkey system that lets users create, schedule and playback digital signage presentations. The Media POD comes with video input capability, a Web client interface, modifiable templates for easy preparation of digital signage pages and a password authorization and approval feature.
