Dashboard Monitoring

dashboard_gui

Building a digital signage network is usually the easy part. However, running a system successfully day after day requires constant vigilance. All of those screens and media players need a watchful eye just in case something goes wrong. Our Dashboard software gives you the proactive tools that enable you to monitor a digital signage network conveniently on your Internet browser. Besides giving you visual assurance by capturing video realtime on each media channel, Dashboard also monitors network connectivity and hardware functions. It even has the intelligence to distinguish between a working screen and a blank screen. Most importantly, Dashboard has programmable alarms that can trigger audible, visual, and email alerts. This kind of vigilance maintains integrity of the entire operation, keeping administrators in the loop and support teams on its toes. Depending on how much automation is desired, certain parameters can be preprogrammed such as rebooting a system after sending an alert, thereby allowing the system to be “self healing”.

Save yourself the embarrassment of being the last to know your digital signage network had a failure. Keywest Technology provides professional software, hardware, content and system design that gives you results you can count on—every time.

Dashboard Advantages

System Monitoring

Dashboard maintains constant contact with all media players assigned to the network. It can monitor any number of preprogrammed parameters such as player status, power status, current playlist and more. It will also monitor connected display device status such as power on/off, audio levels and source selection among others. Any fault determined will immediately result in an on-screen and audible warnings. Additionally, a fault also triggers a notification program which may include emailing any number of system operators that a fault has occurred.

Error Correction

Once a fault has occurred and notifications are complete, Dashboard can be programmed to attempt system repair. For example, if a “no response” condition is indicated on a player, but power appears to be good, Dashboard will issue a reboot command to the player to attempt recovery. Or, if a display monitor reports volume is set to “0”, Dashboard can send a command through the player to the display to set the volume to expected levels.

Content Management

Dashboard contains content management functionality allowing system operators to perform immediate media changes on any individual screen. This is achieved by selecting a media file in the left-hand browser and dragging to a selected cell. Dashboard uploads the content (if necessary) which is immediately integrated into the selected player’s set or playlist.

Emergency Management

System administrators may design as many emergency scenarios and reactions deemed necessary and create custom buttons on the Dashboard interface to immediately trigger those scenarios. For example, if used on a cruise ship, evacuate fore and evacuate aft might be scenarios to include…should an emergency occur at the front of the ship, all digital signage connected could be switched to emergency scenario one in which arrows point the way to evacuate and away from harm.

Scalability

Dashboard is designed to be infinitely scalable. It is efficient for one operator to monitor a system from their desktop or a group of system administrators to monitor from a command center.
