To add DataCall* news content to MediaXtreme Broadcast or MediaZone, please follow these steps:

• Step 1: First make sure you have Keywest Technology's MX-DA software installed on your MediaXtreme system. If you did not order MX-DA with your MediaXtreme, you may add this option for $995 by calling 800-331-2019 and asking for customer service. In most cases, the software can be added by using an ftp link.
• 
  Step 2: Next add a DataCall subscription to your MediaXtreme channel. Call Jim Vance at 866-219-2025 x215 to add or confirm your annual subscription plan.

*All current MediaXtreme Broadcast and MediaZone configurations are compatible with DataCall. Media POD and HD-Video POD are not compatible. Some older MediaXtreme's may or may not be compatible. Please call 800-331-2019 and check with a customer service agent to see if your unit is compatible. Ask about out MediaXtreme Upgrade program to insure you are getting the most from your digital signage system.

PC Data (MX-DA)
Additionally, our MX-DA software gives you the ability to source text data automatically from any network location using the powerful variable macro feature of our MediaCreator CG. This is the perfect way to update redundant "billboard" information such as menus, class schedules, call center logging or any event-driven data.

The user-defined variables are placed on the MediaCreator page by a mouse click. Once placed, the variable takes on the size, color, shape, and font style that has previously been selected. It can be moved to any location on the page, and may even be transparent. The variable may also be placed in a crawl for scheduling independent of the page schedule. At this point, the variable becomes it’s own “zone”, in which you may build color boxes, graphics, and borders around it. Once the page is set up, it simply maintains itself.

MediaCreator allows you to associate user variables with common database programs like Access and Excel, or you may associate variables with text editors such as Note Pad or Word.

The magic to the user-defined variables occurs in our network player, the MediaXtreme. Once the variable is associated to a program that can be reliably accessed over a network, the MediaXtreme has intelligent software that will ‘fetch’ the data glitch-free for assimilation into your digital signage or TV channel. The automation occurs because the MX-DA software includes the ability to schedule the date and time of data transfer and manages the path to the stored data.
