When Phoenix-based Audio Video Resources won the contract for a digital signage system in the lobby of the newly renovated Phoenix Art Museum, the audio-visual integrator turned to the Keywest Technology MediaXtreme POD to produce the required results.

As part of a multi-million dollar renovation of the Phoenix Art Museum, museum staff wanted a way to grab the attention of visitors and build excitement for the exhibits within.

That's why they turned to Audio Video Resources (AVR) of Phoenix for an eye-catching digital signage system that could cycle through custom content promoting what was on display. "They wanted the signs to have a real ‘Wow' factor," recalled AVR Account Executive Todd Hubbell. "Their No. 1 priority was to have something that would blow people away as they entered the lobby of the museum," he said.

AVR turned to the Keywest Technology MediaXtreme POD point of decision digital signage controller as well as 42in LCD monitors from LG Electronics to deliver a system that delivered the stunning results sought.

Digital content specialist DynaTek Media of Phoenix was hired to use the Keywest Technology MediaCreator page creation software application, as well as other multimedia software tools, to build promos that combine MPEG video text and graphics that leave patrons enthused and wanting more

The result was separate one-minute promos focused on different exhibits. Taken together, the promos deliver an enticing sneak peak of the exhibits, whetting the appetites of visitors and leaving them wanting more.

The Phoenix Art Museum issued the contract for the project in August 2006 with installation set up for September and an official roll out scheduled for Oct. 1, 2006. Given the quick turnaround needed, AVR appreciated the excellent support and service Keywest Technology provided to make sure deadlines were met, said Hubbell.

"The MediaXtreme POD and MediaCreator delivered the ‘Wow' factor the museum was looking for, and Keywest Technology delivered with the support we needed to make sure our customer was thoroughly pleased -even on such short notice," he said.
