CNN Airport Enhances Network with Digital Signage Technology
The ubiquitous flat panels found throughout America's airports, otherwise known as CNN Airport Network, uses an enhanced version of MediaXtreme Broadcast to maximize their content offerings.
The next time you're in the concourse of a major airport in
the United States,
look up at the monitor on the wall. You're likely to see CNN Airport
- a special business unit of the Cable News Network playing back CNN's news
programming. Stick around long enough and you'll see the video pull back,
freeing up an "L" -shaped portion of the screen twice per hour to display the advertisements from
the sponsors of CNN
Airport. At the heart of
that system is digital video effects technology from Keywest Technology based on
the company's MediaXtreme media server and high-end video boards.
CNN
Airport turned to Keywest
Technology for the system because its technology maintains the quality of the
video even when it's scaled down. CNN's text crawls and graphics remain 100
percent readable, even in their smaller size. Additionally, the Keywest
Technology solution guaranteed closed captioning information would be
maintained and readable. Currently, more that 40 U.S. airports use the system.
